CAN A MONKEY COPYRIGHT A SELFIE? AND OTHER IP MYSTERIES

VIA ZOOM

Presented by

DAN NOBLITT, THE NOBLITT GROUP, PLLC
Register by Monday, April 12, 2021
CLE OFFERED*
If a monkey takes a selfie, can the monkey claim a copyright in the image? If an artificial intelligence invents an invention, can it get a patent? Is a “naked license” any fun? Do copyright trolls and patent trolls cohabitate under bridges? We will address these intellectual property topics and more, learning what lawyers can do to help their clients avoid intellectual property disputes and control the intellectual property they generate.
Dan Noblitt concentrates his practice in intellectual property law and technology-related issues. His practice involves acquiring and managing patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets, and advising clients and other lawyers about protecting rights in technology, ideas, and brands. Dan is also an adjunct professor at the Arizona State law school, where he has taught intellectual property courses for 15 years.
Dan received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, and began his law practice in Texas 30 years ago. After moving to Arizona in 1993, he worked at Streich Lang and Meyer Hendricks Victor Osborn & Maledon before joining Snell & Wilmer. In 2002, Dan left the Snell & Wilmer partnership to start his own intellectual property firm in Scottsdale. The Noblitt Group now provides services in every technical field, including electronics, computers, software, aerospace, and biotech.
