The Scottsdale Bar Association bids a hearty welcome to duffers and golfers alike to the 33rd Annual Spring Scramble Golf Tournament. For the third consecutive year, our tournament will be held at the Champions Course at the TPC Scottsdale (fka the Desert Course). The entry fee is $115 per person, which includes lunch from the grill, green fee, cart fee, practice balls, yardage guide, bag service and bag service gratuity. Please arrive in plenty of time to register and eat lunch, as the tournament will begin promptly at 1:00 p.m. Please note the following additional information with respect to this year’s tournament:

1.    This is a team event, four-person scramble. A scramble permits each player to hit their drive off the tee on each hole. The team selects which drive to play. Each player then hits a second shot from the spot where the selected drive lies. The best shot is selected, and each player hits his/her third shot from this location.  This process continues until the hole is completed. All putts must be holed! NOTE: If you are playing as a threesome, team members will alternate hitting every fourth shot.

2.    Each team member is required to use his/her drive on 3 holes. NOTE: If you are playing as a threesome, each team member is required to use his/her drive on 4 holes.

3.    All men under age 70 must play from the Championship tees (6653 yards). All men age 70 and older and all women may play from the Forward tees (5342 yards).

4.    Each team will be assigned a team handicap based upon the combined total of each team member’s handicap. The team handicap (10% of the aggregate) will be subtracted from your gross team score. You are responsible for keeping your team’s gross score only. The pro shop will determine the team’s net score. Net scores will be used in determining order of finish. One member of each team must sign the score card before turning it into the pro shop verifying the accuracy of the team’s gross score.  Please keep in mind when registering that it is important to accurately state each golfer's handicap so as to ensure a fair tournament for all participants.

5.    Mulligans will be available for purchase ($20 each) prior to the start of the tournament. The purchase of mulligans will allow each team to replay three shots. Each member of the team will be permitted to hit a mulligan from the three locations selected. The mulligans may be used anywhere on the course, including the putting green, and they may be used consecutively.

6.    After the tournament, we will have a brief awards ceremony. Individual awards will be given for closest to the hole on the par 3's (must be on the green), longest putt, longest drive, and straightest drive. Team prizes will be given for the top finishing teams based on net scores.

7.    DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES: Completed applications and entry fees deadline will be announced.  All applications for entry and payment of entry fees must be processed through our website.  If you are registering as less than a foursome, we may pair with you with others. If you have any questions about the Spring Scramble, please contact Kevin Estevez at 480-947-1911 or kestevez@lang-baker.com.

8.    Hit the ball long and straight, and ENJOY, ENJOY, ENJOY!

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS

Please read before you register.

If you are registering for others, you must have their handicap information in order to register them.
You will need to know the following for each person you are registering:

Each person's home course.
Each person's AGA handicap.
If no AGA handicap, what the person's normal score is on a good day at a par 72 golf course.

If you are registering for anyone other than yourself, add each person as a companion during the registration process.

Members must log in to register.  Click on REGISTER NOW button.  Choose how many team members you are registering and paying for during this registration (one player, two players, three players, or four players).  For each team member you are registering for besides yourself, you must add them as a companion.  Then answer the questions:  (1) add any team members who will be registering separately, not part of this registration (if any) and (2) for each team member for whom you are registering, answer the 3 questions listed (AGA handicap or "best day" score, home course).  Hit COMPLETE REGISTRATION and then proceed to payment screen.

EXAMPLE:  John Jones is registering for 2 team members, himself and Mary Jones.  John will select registration type "2 players" and add Mary as a companion.  John knows that Scott and Carrie Smith will play on their team, but will register and pay separately.  John lists the Smiths in answer to the question regarding team members who are registering separately.  John then answer the questions on AGA handicap or "best day" score and home course for both John and Mary Jones.   John completes the registration and pays $230 for himself and Mary.  The Smiths register separately using the same process.

Any registrations which remain unpaid after the registration deadline will be cancelled.

If you have questions or problems with respect to the registration process, please contact Paige Martin at 480.429.4827 or email scottsdalebar@aol.com.
